In January 1990, after returning to the States following Operation Just Cause, we were driving off of Travis Air Force Base and were stopped at the last traffic light before leaving the base. We were dead tired from 20+ hours of traveling and everyone was napping on the bus. When the light turned green, Andrew J. Broussard from Orange, Texas said from the back of the bus, “I love being in a country that when they say ‘gringo’, they’re talking about the traffic lights.”
